    Inspired by al pastor tacos, this sauce is a blend of Taiwan’s famously sweet pineapples, savory white miso, and fresh cilantro. This sauce strikes a perfect balance with natural fruit sweetness, miso umami, and just a slight hint of heat. It’s so flavorful that you’ll soon find yourself adding this to all your dishes! Pairs well with: Salads, Grain Bowls, Seafood, Grilled Meats.

  • Smoky Hibiscus Hot Sauce

    Taste the floral notes of tropical hibiscus flowers from the southern coast of Hualien County, Taiwan along with the subtle flavor of smoked longan fruit. This combo of sweet (from our own hibiscus tea!), smoky, and sour, creates a familiar barbecue taste with an added spicy kick! Pairs well with: Pizza, Roast Potatoes, Quesadillas, Chicken over Rice.

    This sauce features Taiwan’s sweet and juicy Irwin Mangoes paired with fiery local chili peppers and hints of ginger and goji berries for balance. This simple yet delicious sauce is all about the ingredients. We use single origin mangoes grown by a family farm on the west coast of Taiwan so that each drop is packed with bright mango flavor along with comfortable heat. Pairs well with Steak, Fried Rice, Eggs and more.

Our Story

We’re Jane and Denner, two people who left their laptops behind in New York to pursue life in Taiwan. As we roamed our neighborhood wet markets (菜市場), tasting fresh fruits and getting to know local vendors and farmers, we fell in love with the wealth of fresh produce available in Taiwan and quickly became inspired to do more with it.

Empress Hot Sauce is our way of sharing our story of Taiwan—full of fresh fruits, flavors, and deep connections with the people who grow the food we eat .
